A Visit to our Mill Maismühle Landolt in Näfels.
We love working with local organic producers, and we are excited to share with you a little more about the mill we work with so you know what kind of flour we use for our products.
Maismühle Landolt was founded in 1830 where they milled their first corn flour. In fact, they were the first corn mill of the eastern part of Switzerland. The mill is still functional today, with flat belt driven machines and its own water power. While the mill has still conserved its old machines, a few newer ones have been added to the production in order to meet the demand they face today.
The flour used in our cinnamon rolls and bread is always milled the same week we receive the flour. We get a new delivery every 2-3 weeks, which means that the flour is always extremely fresh, which increases the quality and taste immensely.
Maismühle Landolt is a fully certified organic mill and they offer products with the Demeter certification or the Bio-Suisse certification (Knospe quality).
